Serie A Preview: Roma primed for derby, Juve out to defend narrow lead

Roma could move 12 points clear of arch-rivals Lazio in Serie A with victory in the Derby della Capitale on Sunday.

Rudi Garcia s men currently sit a point adrift of league leaders Juventus, having closed the gap with a 1-0 midweek victory at Udinese.

The Rome derby  one of the fiercest rivalries in European football highlights this weekend s action and gives Roma a chance to climb above the defending champions if only briefly ahead of Juve s meeting with Napoli later on Sunday.

Garcia s side will also revel in the chance to put real daylight between themselves and their neighbours and defender Davide Astori knows his side are entering a crucial period of the campaign.

Now the fun begins, because we have closed the gap on the top of the table,  he …

Liverpool criticise ´inaccurate´ agent outburst on Duncan

Liverpool have pledged to seek a resolution with Bobby Duncan after describing allegations made against them by the teenage forward s agent as inaccurate and inflammatory .

Duncan s representative Saif Rubie claimed his client wants to leave the club and that Liverpool s moves to block a transfer away has taken a toll on the 18-year-old s wellbeing.

Rubie singled out Reds sporting director Michael Edwards for criticism and alleged the treatment of Duncan – who is Steven Gerrard s cousin – showed zero consideration for the player s mental health.

Liverpool have strongly refuted Rubie s claims with a spokesperson stating: Liverpool Football Club is aware of and disappointed by the unattributed comments and unfounded allegations that have been made in the media…

LaLiga accused of ´inadequate´ handling of ´disgraceful´ racist abuse towards Vinicius Junior

LaLiga s handling of the absolutely disgraceful instances of racist abuse towards Vinicius Junior has been completely inadequate .

That was the message from Kick It Out chair Sanjay Bhandari after Vinicius was subjected to more abuse by sections of the crowd at Valencia s win over Real Madrid last Sunday.

Valencia s punishments for the incident were reduced on appeal, with the partial closure of Mestalla Stadium cut from five matches to three and their financial penalty also sliced.

Bhandari, chair of the organisation aiming to eradicate racism from football, says the Spanish Football Federation and LaLiga president Javier Tebas have failed to support Vinicius.

I think the treatment we ve seen of Vinicius has been absolutely disgraceful, Bhandari told St…

From 4-0 to 6-1: Where did it all go wrong for PSG?

Marco Verratti will be one of many PSG players wondering what went so awfully wrong in their 6-1 loss to Barcelona. (Photo: beIN SPORTS)

Prior to their Champions League round of 16 second leg tie, no one could fault PSG for feeling confident. After all, Les Parisiens had given their fans plenty to celebrate about on Valentine s Day. Not only had they beaten Barcelona, but they had crushed the Blaugrana. 4-0 was the final score-line by the time the dust settled, and Unai Emery s men could even have had a few more.

It was arguably the worst performance by Luis Enrique s troops this season, and by far Lionel Messi s in a Barcelona shirt. For all intents and purposes, even the most ardent supporter of the Catalan giants had to admit that PSG already had one foot in the quar…

Job not done – Iran boss Carlos Queiroz after shocking victory over Wales (Video)

Iran scored deep in stoppage time twice to beat Wales in the second round of the World Cup group stage, but having lost the opener to England, they obviously have work to do if they want to qualify for the round of 16, and coach Carlos Queiroz is aware of that.

Iran play the USA on Tuesday.

This is just a win, 3 points. We did not finish our job.

Carlos Queiroz is pleased with the win but knows the job is not finished

Silva one of the best – Aguero buoyed by old ally´s Manchester City return

Sergio Aguero paid a warm tribute to David Silva after his Manchester City team-mate made a man-of-the-match return to action for the Premier League leaders.

Silva missed three of City s previous four top-flight matches due to personal reasons but captained Pep Guardiola s side against Watford at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday, receiving a hero s reception from the home faithful.

And the Spain playmaker made an instant impact as his perfectly weighted pass released Leroy Sane to set up Raheem Sterling s opener inside the first minute of a 3-1 win.

Guardiola told a news conference afterwards that he faces being without Silva once more over the coming weeks because family is the most important thing in life .

Aguero rounded off the scoring for City with his …

The Best Super Bowl Long-Shot Bet: Storming the Field

Long-shot bets pay a ton for a reason and that’s because of the improbability of hitting them. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t any +EV ones available. With all the Super Bowl 58 odds offerings, finding and picking off some possibly poorly priced markets has never been easier.

My favorite long-shot bet for our Super Bowl predictions could be cashed before the third drive and with a little shopping around I can find it at 700 points higher between books in the NFL odds.  Here is my best Super Bowl long-shot prop bet for your NFL picks for Chiefs vs. 49ers on Sunday, February 11.

High School Students Bring Trump 2020 Flag To Basketball Game Against Predominantly Black School

In an effort to taunt the visiting team, a group of Minnesota high school students brought a Trump 2020 flag to a boys basketball game Tuesday night. Considering that the road team, Minneapolis Roosevelt High School, has a predominantly black student body and has been staying in the locker room during the national anthem for their previous games, this would seem like more than some good-natured ribbing. Not to the mom who owned the Trump flag, though! MRHS head coach Michael Walker shared a photo (now deleted) of the students holding the flag along with this caption, via the : “I coach a predominantly black inner city high school team,” Walker wrote on his Facebook posting. “We go out to a rural area in Jordan, MN and this is there. Please explain how and why this is appropriate…
